AISLE PARTIES: We have negotiated with Premier Food Services and they have agreed to not enforce their rule of purchasing food only from them for our aisle parties. They would like the opportunity to work with barns that may have not used their service in the past, but if this is not feasible, the door is open to do what you have done in the past. Due to insurance/contract issues, they request no homemade food and no other caterer, but items purchased from Costco, Safeway, etc. are all fine. Due to the logistics of the grounds, lets again have the Horse and Beef Barn plan parties for Wednesday and all other barns on Thursday. For those interested, please see fliers for Premier Food Service Aisle Party Food Trays and options for lunch catering during the show.
VENDORS: Come and shop! Adams Ranch Pottery, Show Me Western Clothes, Riding in Style, King Graphics, Dana's Classy Closet, Beelart Custom Embroidery, Carole Bradford Art, Marsha DeArriaga, Katie Janes and more to come.
UPHA Pink Ribbon Class, Pink Saturday, wear Pink to show your support.
Our charity this year is the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and UPHA has teamed up with this organization to allow us to bring you the Pink Ribbon Class. This year, since our schedule was already set when we received our approval, the Amateur English Pleasure Championship will be our Pink Ribbon Class, the last class of our show on Saturday night. Our goal on Saturday will be to turn the Deschutes County Expo PINK. We will be asking for donations all day on Saturday and for every donation, a pink balloon will be left. So barns, the Expo Center itself should be full of PINK BALLOONS. This will also be broadcast throughout the Redmond/Bend community and we will be asking our public to attend and give a donation in return for a great show. If this is a charity that you typically donate to, please see the flier on how you can be a "Pink Money Sponsor."
We would like to celebrate several women who have battled breast cancer, these may be women we wish to honor or fondly remember. They need not be from our horse community. These women or their representative will be brought to center ring prior to the class and will be part of the awards presentation for this class. All funds received will go directly to UPHA and then to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation. See flier for further information. Please contact Marli at 541-548-3541 if you are interested in being a "Pink Money Sponsor."
NEW CLASSES: Adult Amateur Walk-Trot Classes - These classes and Championships are a new addition to our show and will be offered in Hunter, Western and Classic/English Pleasure. These classes debuted at another Northwest Show last year and were a huge success. Great for those just starting out or maybe returning after several years or for those who want to slow it all down a bit. See page 47 in the premium book for details.
PATRON PURSE: Far West did not fare well last year financially, so several of our patrons have given more to show sponsorships this year, therefore our prize moneys for the Patron Purse classes this year are less than in the past. The total prize moneies in these classes are still in process, please check back for further updates. If you are interested in contributing, please contact Marli or Diana.
